~Cousin Time~

The end of October Amanda and her girls came out to Delta to spend a day or two with us.  It was so fun and I love when my sister comes to stay.  Kayson and her two girls have so much fun together!
Nothing like a sucker right before bed time :)
Kenzi, Kayson, and Brooklyn

The first part of November, Amanda's little girl Brooklyn got so so sick and they ended up having to take her to Primary's.  She had a twisted bowel which was so distended and enlarged... which made her one very sick little girl. Long story short she ended up having surgery to repair the twisted bowel, removed her appendix while they were in there, had gallstones a few days later, and then reopened her to remove her gallbladder.  What a tough, challenging few weeks for their little family.  Brooklyn was such a sick little girl and was a trooper through the whole thing.  Bless her little heart.  She was in so much pain! We took Kenzi for the first week and I was so glad we were in Provo the night Amanda and Brandon had to rush Brooklyn up to Primary's.  This is the very quick rendition of what actually happened, but I will never forget seeing my sweet little niece suffering through so much pain, with everyone feeling so helpless.

(Brooklyn knew I was taking a picture and was saying "cheese"! Sweet little girl)

Meanwhile, us in Delta were having a party!
As I mentioned earlier, being prego and so so sick, having two little ones running around, at times, was a bit challenging.  Kayson and Kenzi are 3 months apart in age and had so much fun together... "Refereeing" was almost a constant with these 2! :) So glad when Coby would get home and help entertain!
We had so much fun raking and jumping in the leaves! The kiddos decided it was also fun to be drug around the yard on the tarp! :)

(Playing at the park)
It was so fun having Kenzi for the week. Luckily Kays and Kenz are the same size, cause all we had for her were Kayson's clothes and what she was wearing the night we picked her up.  Although most days, they looked like little twins in matching outfits, we did make a few trips to the store for hair things and some cute, fun girl clothes!  I loved doing her hair and had so much fun having a girl around! Sure do love their family and had so much fun bonding with Kenzi for the week!

Baby #2

We are so excited to announce that we are going to be having baby #2!!!
This time around it took us a couple of months to get pregnant, and boy when we finally found out, we were so excited!

I feel like for 3 months I was constantly doing tests, whether they were ovulation ones or pregnancy ones, and was so relieved to finally see 2 little lines!
Two very happy/healthy pictures before October (aka 6+ weeks) set in!

This pregnancy has been very different from the beginning.  I have been so so sick!  With Kayson, I was very nauseated and threw up at least 5+ times a day, but for the most part felt ok. This time, I just felt crappy all the time.  I would occasionally throw up, but felt nauseated non-stop and just hurt constantly.  October and November I was practically on bed rest, not due to Dr's orders, but because I felt that crappy and I seriously didn't move from the couch or chair all day.  I know this might seem dramatic, but I would seriously cry every night and sit in the tub hurting because there was nothing else to do.  Nothing tasted good or sounded good, and I honestly couldn't make myself eat.  I would cry every night because going to bed meant another day would come and all I had to look forward to was feeling horrible and sitting around all day.  It honestly just felt like the flu: aching, nauseated, throwing up, etc.   I was admitted to the hospital once in October and once in November for dehydration and sickness, and was hooked up to IV fluids and medications for 4-5 hours each time. It slowly started to taper off towards the end of November, and I remember from Thanksgiving on, it really eased up.  THANK GOODNESS!! During Oct/Nov is when Kayson started watching TV.  He would never sit for anything on tv except for when the wii was on, but these two months he had no choice.  He was so good to just play by himself, sit for Mickey Mouse or cartoons, and lay by mommy to read books.  One of my co-workers was so good to me, and would come grab Kayson at the drop of a hat, and took him for me.  There were a few days that were just plain awful and she helped out so much.  I can never thank Elaine for her help with Kayson, meals, and goodies.  The second she found out I was in the hospital, she was in the hospital room door and told us she was taking Kayson for the evening and would keep him until needed.  I hope one day I can repay her for her kindness.  I also had several other friends offer to help or bring goodies.... I just have a hard time asking for help.  I know when people say "if there is anything I can do to help, let me know" that they most likely genuinely mean it, but I have such a hard time asking for help.  And never knew how to say to someone that I needed help with Kayson or possibly meals for our family.  But, we got through it and are so glad that I am back to normal and feeling better.  Coby was such a trooper through the whole thing and did everything for us those two months.

Being so sick, it was hard to be around people and not tell them that I was pregnant.
My mom threw a Halloween party the middle of October and we decided it was perfect timing to tell my family.  Coby dressed up as a chef and I was the stove, with a "bun in the oven".  Once again, it took my mom a while to grasp the concept.  When we walked in, she just said how cute we looked and how fun to dress up!  My sisters had to ask her... "mom, what are they?" "What's in the oven?"  and then she got it! Both she and my dad started squealling (well more my mom) but they, along with all my siblings were so excited and happy for us!
(Don't mind the horrible picture, I threw up right before we walked in and was shaking in this picture)

When Reid and Analee came out to carve pumpkins in October, we had Kayson dress up to show them his Halloween costume and he came out with this sign:
"King of the Jungle... Until May 2013"  They both were excited for us as well.
The day I found out, this is what Coby came home to at lunch!!
We couldn't be more excited to be adding to our little family!

Halloween 2012

                             Halloween... better late than never!!
We had such a fun Halloween this year and Kayson enjoyed all the festivities.  The weekend before Halloween we had some of Coby's family come out to Delta for lunch and carving pumpkins.  This is such a fun tradition we have with them.

Coby's pride and joy! He's way more artistic than I am!

Kayson loved all the pumpkins!

This year Kayson was a little lion.... and we loved his costume that Grandma Luwena Madsen made for him.  It took him some convincing to put it on at first, but once he got it on, he loved it!!
Although the day didn't consist of much, we did take him to a few houses trick-or-treating and he came away with a lot of loot!! At first he didn't really understand what was going on, but after he realized that if he said, "trick-or-treat" he would receieve candy....  he suddenly became a pro!  We also went out to dinner as a family that night!

My handsome little lion!!! Oh how I love this boy!
All in all, it was a great Halloween and we can't wait to spend many many more together as a family!
