DECEMBER... thus far!

25!!!
December 1st, I turned 25.... a quarter of a century! It feels so weird to be that old and yet I don't feel any different :) That day my mom, Alyson, Emily, and my aunt Ellen and I all went to the Nutcracker and to Olive Garden (my fav). It was such a fun day out. That weekend, my sweet sweet husband, surprised me with a little get away to PARK CITY- Stein Ericksen Lodge! Alyson kept Kayson over night and we were able to have such a great time. Coby always does a great job on birthdays and always surprises me. He completely over-did himself this year. I kind of caught on that we were going somewhere for the weekend and he made me think it was St. George. So, I didn't really pack any warm clothes.... and when we got to -3 degrees in Park City, I wasn't quite prepared. Coby said that was another part of the surprise, and took me to the outlets to get a new coat. He is so sweet! Stein's is phenomenal! It really is so unbelievable there. My uncle Russ hooked us up with a great room and a hot tub on the balcony. It was so surreal to be sitting out there with it snowing all around us and the most beautiful view of the mountain side. Honestly, how many people get that opportunity? It was amazing!

The next morning, he had another surprise.... a couple's massage at the SPA! It was to die for. It was so nice to get pampered! We had a great great time, and then did some shopping on our way home. It was my first time leaving Kayson for anyone over night, and he did really good for my sister, so that made the trip even better. Coby is always so thoughtful and completely shocked me this year. This was definitely a birthday to remember!

GINGERBREAD HOUSES:

That weekend our little family made gingerbread houses... well attempted! :)

Kayson just wanted to eat the candy!

Or feed Coby and I the frosting!

We love us some frosting!

And here's our final project!

And my handsome little man

COBY'S GRADUATION: DECEMBER 9th

On Friday, December 9th, Coby graduated from Weber State University.

He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Advanced Radiology: MRI/CT.

He didn't want to make a big deal about it, but ended up being so glad he walked.

Grandma Analee and Kayson in the stands!

One Happy Camper!

Coby's Uncle Vaughn surprised him and came!

Coby's mom

Coby's grandma Knudsen

Coby's dad and Analee

My mom

Coby had so many people there to support him!

Thanks to everyone that came.

It was such a great day and I am so so proud of Coby!

I am so thrilled that he is done! (and so is he) :)

Like most medical professions, the first two years after your Associates degree, is only another associates degree. So for Coby to be getting his Bachelors, is pretty much equivalent to getting a Master's but without the title.

All in all, we are so happy to be done with the schooling life (for now) and can't wait til he's all done with state boards and a certified MRI/CT Technician. I am so proud of him! And to graduate with honors, was a huge step and improvement for Coby!

CHRISTMAS in MAYFIELD

Our traditional matching jammies!

(notice the little bunnies, honoring Delta Rabbits)

This last weekend we celebrated Christmas down in Mayfield.

It was so much fun and such a great weekend. Analee always

makes it so fun and we love going down there. It was so fun to have the

family all together. I just wish Brenda and Torrance could have been there too!

OLSEN CHRISTMAS PARTY: MEETING SANTA

We also had the Olsen Family Christmas party last weekend and Kayson finally got to meet Santa this year! He didn't cry but wasn't too sure about him. He was fine as long as I was around. This was a very 'special' Santa!

So fun to get together with all the Olsen side!

And that has been our December thus far.

I absolutely love this time of year!

Look who's 1!!!

I cannot believe my baby turned 1!!! Although Kayson's acual birthday we were both really sick, we made up for it was an awesome party that weekend!

s

Here is Kayson with his birthday present from Coby and I!

He loves it.
Don't mind the messy background, we barely moved in the day before.

We had Kayson's party at the Ftn. Green church on Saturday the 12th. It was barnyard themed!

And here is his cake!!

It may not look the greatest, but it took forever to make!

It's the effort that counts right?!?

Our handsome little birthday boy!

Kayson has been so into fire, matches, and candles lately.

I thought he'd be able to blow it out on his own, but all he did was point and say "hot hot hot"

Fo as much as he loves food, I though he'd dive right in, but he was very delicate and only picked at things with his thumb and forefinger!

I tried helping him get bigger pieces.

He LOVED it, but still took his delicate little time and ate piece by piece.

He loves sugar just like his momma!

We had such a great turn out.

Thanks to everyone that came!

And of course, Kayson came away with some great loot!

He got lots of new, fun, great gifts!

He especially loves his new basketball hoop that lights up and sings!

It was a fantastic birthday party for our little man!

It seems so crazy to think that I have a one year old. He is definitely changing and growing up every day. We love you so much Kayson and hope that you had a happy happy birthday!!!

Halloween 2011

Well, better late than never I guess. I figured I better hurry and get Halloween pictures up here before Christmas comes! :)

Isn't he the cutest little polar bear you ever saw??
Kayson's grandma Luwena made his costume and I couldn't have been more pleased!
I loved how it turned out.

It was kind of a low-key Halloween for us. At the time, we were slightly homeless, so we were staying with my parents in Ftn. Green. We just handed out candy at their house while they were away at the hospital doing my dad's 3rd round of chemo. We went up to the Ftn. Green carnival and played some games and got some treats. We also trick-or-treated at a few houses. All in all, I would say it was a great first Halloween for Kays!

October Fun

Finally a little October/Halloween fun! We have been so busy this last month, but finally made it up to the famous Murray Park "Haunted Trail" and Gardner Village on Oct. 24!

Kayson and I had so much fun touring around the witches village

During our scavenger hunt at Gardner village (searching for all the witches)
we decided it would be fun to interpret the witches we were searching for...
and here is Benji by the witch (on the roof) on her "eye-phone" and
Benj on his I-phone! :)
Jenny and the witch eating her hotdog!

And all the girls by the witch in the hay!
Meg-Annie-Jenny-Emily-Alyson-Me-Ellen

And my little travel buddy!

Doesn't he look so big and handsome?

After Gardner village, we headed to the park in Murray, where they have the 'Haunted Trail'

It was so much fun. Perfect for little kids. After walking through the haunted forest, they give you free hot chocolate and donuts!

We had such a great time! Thanks Annie and Ellen for having us.
