Christmas Party at Stein's!!

As always, Christmas time is just magical... and you better believe the weekend after Thanksgiving, we had all of our Christmas decorations up!! I love this time of year and don't think that it lasts nearly long enough, so we put everything up asap!

We bought a new tree this year and decorations... and I absolutely loved it!
Our first encounter with Santa was at our ward party.... needless to say, it didn't go so swell! :(  Kayson wanted nothing to do with Santa.  He clung on to me for dear life.  This wasn't the most friendly Santa though, so I was hopeful for other encounters throughout the season.

We then started out our season of parties and festivities at the magnificant, fabulous STEIN ERICKSEN'S LODGE in Park City!! My uncle Russ decided to have our Olsen Family Christmas party up there this year, and to say the least, it did not disappoint!! It was so much fun!!
The first day up there, my uncle Russ hooked everyone who wanted to, up with skiing passes.
Although Coby in a snowboarder and has never skiied in his life, he was so excited to try it and ended up having a blast.  Here is Coby and our cousin Rusty!

And the rest of the clan: Coby, Rusty, Vance, Amanda, Alyson, Brandon, and Jared
(since I was prego, my mom and I were on babysitting duty)

It was so fun and definitely kicked off the holiday season to have some snow!
That night at the party, we had our second encounter with Santa Claus, and it went better.  As he called out the various kids one by one, I tried getting Kayson excited and not to be scared.  When it was his turn though he started to cry and clung to me once again.  We were able to get close, but as you can see, Kays just clung on for dear life.

This was honestly one of the best Santa's I've ever seen and Kayson decided he wasn't so bad.  He turned and looked at his prizes and said "Hi Santa" and "Thanks Santa"
He even allowed Santa to give a pat on the back :)

We had so much fun and more good food than you could ever imagine.  We had so much fun with all of our family and enjoyed staying up late every night, playing games, hot tubing, and having fun!  Thanks so much Uncle Russ for the wonderful party.  We had a blast!

Thanksgiving 2012

Just a short little tid bit about Thanksgiving... Coby and I were both on call at the hospital in Delta Thanksgiving weekend, so my decided to host the holiday and see who could come.  My parents, and Amanda, Brandon, Brooklyn, and Kenzington all came out.  We had such a good time with everyone and great great food.  My mom, Amanda, and I went to Breaking Dawn pt 2 the night before, while the boys stayed home with the kiddos and watched some sporting event I'm sure.  The next day was filled with fabulous food and shopping (for Amanda and Brandon)!

All in all, we have so much to be thankful for and we count our blessings every day for the miracles we have in our lives!
The grandkids sure do love their grandpa Brad and are so blessed to have him in their lives.... as are we all!

Turning 2... And Birthday Fun!

I cannot believe my little boy turned 2!!! Where did the last two years go?
When he woke up on his birthday, we were so excited cause we had the dining room/kitchen all decorated, and his presents and new 4-wheeler all sitting out... and he walked into the room and all he wanted were the balloons! Awesome, could've saved some money there! :)

After the excitement of the balloons wore off, he was so excited about his four-dwee-der (4-wheeler)!
He insisted on driving around with atleast one balloon in his hand!

And he pretty much hasn't gotten off his 4-wheeler since! :)

We also got him a couple little hot wheels cars and some new books!

Then the real party began at the place where "A kid can be a kid".... CHUCK-E-CHEESE!!
Although is was a blizzard that day, we still had a great turn out and had so much fun!
Annie, Ellen, Amanda (left Primary's for a minute to come spend time with Kenz), Jenny, Mom and Dad Aagard, Grandma "May May", and aunt Dustie and Kids!
Due to being so sick and having both Kenz and Kayson for the week, I ended up just buying a cake.. and it turned out great.  Sometimes making them yourself is over-rated :)

Grandma and Grandpa Aagard.... who literally flew in from Germany late the night before!! (no jet lag here)
              My happy, handsome little boy!
He loved dancing and jamming out while Chuckie and the gang sang!

Although he loved everything about the place, he DID NOT want to get close to Chuck-E-Cheese!
One of the highlights was Kayson and Coby getting to go into the "Ticket Blaster"!
I thought Kayson would be a little scared, but he was laughing so hard the entire time!
(I guess it comes from all the times Coby would blow leaves at him with the leaf blower)

Our little family with our now two year old!!
Grandma Luwena Madsen (aka Grandma May May)
Kays loved playing all the games and riding all the rides!

He was also spoiled by our families!

We sure love our little man and couldn't be happier with the great little boy he is!
Having his party at Chuck-E-Cheese was a total success, of which I would totally recommend or do again!  It was so fun for all the kids and Kayson thoroughly enjoyed himself!

Here's some of the fun and latest stats on Kayson:
-At his 2 year appt he weighed 30lbs 8oz (75 percentile) and was 36.5 inches (90 percentile)
-He mostly wear size 2T clothes, but can wear some 18 month stuff still and 3T clothes
-Wears size 7 shoes and size 4 diapers
-Still my awesome little sleeper- (Bed time 8:30-8:30 and naps from 2:00-4:00, sometimes 4:30)
-He is a TALKER!  Most people don't believe he is only two because he talks so well.  He is talking in 4-5 word sentences and can practically communicate everything or anything he wants or needs!
-Loves to sing!  He can sing along with practically every nursery rhyme and sings the entire song.  Some of our latest favorites are "You are my Sunshine", ABC's, I love to see the temple, and seriously every other song out there.
-He catches on to things so quickly and is so smart.  He knows all of his colors and shapes, and a few different numbers and letters.  We have never pushed any of these with him, but he is constantly asking and wants to learn.  We'll be shopping or driving and he'll point to something and say "square" or "triangle" or the color of the thing and is always right!  The shocker was when we were in walmart one time, he looked up at the ceiling and pointed, saying "hexagon"... of which I had probably only showed him ever once before... and sure enough, the lights were shaped in a hexagon!
-Loves playing hide-and-seek, and jumping out or scaring dad
-He got all of his 2 year molars the week of his birthday
-Suddenly hates getting his hair cut!! We've never had a bad experience and he's never been cut, but any time I get the clippers out he has a complete melt down and refuses to get it cut.... He just might end up with a mullet or shaggy hair :)
-He loves "fixing" things and will get out his hammer and tools any time Coby is fixing or doing something
-He absolutely loves to be in motion, whether it's running/racing around the house, riding his strider bike, his fourwheeler or his little tikes car... he loves to be moving!
-Says the funniest things! Some of our latest favorites are :"What you talkin bout?" "Stay right here, I be back!" And he usually ends everything with "Ok?"

I'm sure there's so much more that I'm forgetting to document about our little boy, but honestly, he is a delight. He loves being around people and is so good to go to anyone and everyone.  He LOVES his grandparents and other family members.  And we couldn't be happier with our little one!
