*ALAKSA* (pt 2)

After staying the night in our cabin in Healy, we headed back to Denali National Park.... and amazingly enough we were one of the few 30% who actually get to see Mt. Mckinley! There was no denying which mountain it was.

The park was so pretty!

Kayson was loving the gift shops! :)

And so were our husbands!

We also had a close encounter with a......

MOMMA MOOSE!!

We first spotted the baby, but knew the mom would be near.

The baby was so cute and I couldn't believe how big it was!

We also got to go to a sled-dog show while we were there and meet all the sled dogs at the park.

"MUSH"

They were awesome dogs! I can't believe how powerful and smart they are.

And.... some more wild life, a red fox on our drive back to Anchorage!

While we were in Anchorage, I wanted to see the temple. It was so small, but absolutely beautiful.

Kayson and Kenzi were having a good time taking pictures in the parking lot!

July 10th, we woke up... and due to Coby and Brandon's fishing trip not panning out, we decided to hike to Byron Glacier.

It was a fun hike and Kayson loved every minute!

Standing on Byron Glacier!

After hiking, we went to the 'Wildlife Conservation Center'

We just drove around the park and saw all the animals.

Moose

Musk OX

Brown Bear

ELK

Caribou

Brown bear cubs

Black bears

After the conservation center we headed back to our hotel. On the drive we saw all these cars pulled off to the side of the road, so we stopped to see what everyone was looking at. There were wild mountain goats everywhere.

They are the craziest animals. I don't understand how they can scale right up the side of the mountain. It was neat to see them in their environment.

That evening Amanda, Coby and I, along with the kiddos walked around 'down-town' Anchorage and through some markets. Brandon's conference (and whole reason for this trip) started that evening. We hung out in the hotel and packed our stuff for our flight home the next day.

Flying home was even easier than flying out there. Kayson slept on take-off and landing and played or slept the rest of the time.
He is such a good baby and traveling buddy!

All in all...... Alaska was AWESOME!! It was such a fun, random trip, that I am so glad we went on. We had so much fun and really enjoyed our traveling partners: Amanda, Brandon, and Kenzington. Can't wait to see where we go next year!?! :)
