~All about Kayson~

I don't know if you've ever read the children's book "I Love You Through and Through" but it's one of our favorites in our little family and it completely reminds me of Kayson.  Yes, there are definitely hard days, but I love this little guy more than words can say.  He is going to be the best big brother and I can't wait to see what the next phase in life has for him.
Here's the latest update on our little stud muffin:
-He LOVES Taylor Swift's song 'Never Ever Getting Back Together'.  It's so funny, he heard it on TV once and the next day was singing it, so I've played it on our phones and he LOVES it and sings along with the whole thing
-Loves Mickey Mouse, Despicable Me, Finding Nemo, Chicken Little, Little Einsteins, Doc McStuffins, and watchin Donkey Kong and Marion on the Wii (never would watch Tv until I got prego and so sick, but he loves his shows now)
-He could be outside all day long and if he could constantly play in the sprinkler or with the hose he'd be one happy little boy
-Any time we go outside, he always wants to "Go get the mail" at our road side box
-He's my little helper: loves putting away dishes and knows where they go, any time I vacuum he grabs his toy vacuum and goes right along with me, and always wants to help take out the garbage or dump the dust pan after sweeping
-Right now is so obsessed with cars and "shooters" (guns)
-Is constantly wanting to swing his bat at whatever ball you can find or play catch
-LOVES nursery! Gets so excited for the closing song in sacrament and can't wait to get to nursery
-He is also slightly obsessed with the kids games on Coby's phone.  Whenever Coby comes home for lunch Kayson will ask for him to leave his phone so he can play with it
-He is pretty equal when it comes to a mommy's or daddy's boy, but absolutely loves chasing Coby around the house and "racing" with dad
-Still loves being in motion on his strider bike, 4-wheeler, his little car, or any mode of transportation
-We'll go for family walks at night, and he'll ride his strider as far as we can go (and longer and faster than us)
-LOVES going the park
-Constantly wants to say all the prayers by himself and always starts with "Thankful for Grandma and Grandpa, and playing with Davis (his little buddy) at the park" and then he'll follow us for the rest of the prayer, but always demands that he "say it by myself"
-Says "Hi" to everyone and anyone! Along with "What ya doing?"
-He's listened to Coby one too many times at McDonald's cause the other day he kept pulling up to our counter in his car and saying, "A hamburger, fries, a Dr. Pepper, and that's it!"
-Loves singing "Happy Birthday"
-Other funny sayings at the moment:
"Just a minute, I be back!" "Ok, I will" He always says "thanks and "Ya Welcome" for kisses
-Whenever anyone is sad, he says, "Don't be sad, Be happy!"
-Always walks into our room in the moring, sighs, and says, "Good Morning"
-He also has this new fascination with calling Coby "Coby" and will say to me, "Where'd Cob go" or hollar for him saying "Coby, where are ya?"
-He'll say "Come on, let's go!" while motioning with his hand for you to come here or follow him. Also "come play with me"
-One time he asked for fruit loops to snack on and we didn't have any, so I put marshmellow mateys in a measuring cup for him, and ever since then he is constantly asking for "Marshmellow's in a cup" (meaning that or real marshmellows.
-"Mom, you coldy?" whenever I get a blanket or anything
-About the baby: he'll say "is the baby moving" any time I touch my stomach and lately trying to get him excited about the baby and helping mom with the baby, he now says "we change his bum, and get him dressed, and get him a bottle"
-Also frequently will use the word "NO" and 'Stop it" which drive me both insane and he knows he's not supposed to yell
-Loves driving or steering our car any chance he can get and then will swirve and say he's driving "crazy"

                                     Watching Mickey.. and just chillin'!
Playing with the baby ducks and chickens at Cal-Ranch!
                                           My handsome little man

                                               "I coloring mom"
Loves posing and taking random funny pictures all the time!

-In a fast version, potty training is almost complete!  The first few days, I thought were going to be the death of me, but he picked up going #1 really quick and has only had a few accidents in the last month and a half.  Going #2 has definitely been a challenge. We went cold turkey with the underwear and no diapers, so I was constantly washing underwear from #2 accidents... not fun! He would come running the second he would poop too and say "Mom, I pooped in my underwear!"  So the little stink, knew every time he needed to go and did go, but just refused to go on the toilet!  All of a sudden though, last weekend at Amanda's house, he told me he needed to go potty, but wanted to sit down.... and holy cow, HE DID it!! He's had a few accidents since then, but get's it now and isn't scared to poop anymore.  His reward for going #2 was new shooters (this pack of 3 different nerf guns) and he loves them.  So if he has an accident, they get put away and every time he goes, he gets to play with them.  This has definitely worked for him.  Nothing else did (not the one or two cold showers I attempted to do-but couldn't do it again, any other bribes, excitement, toys, etc).  For going potty, he loved his sticker chart and gum balls he got! Just for my personal memory, at the beginning he would never fully empty his bladder and was somewhat scared to go potty, but my sister suggested sprinkling warm water down there when he was going... and that was the trick!  He also insists to stand now, since we went camping and loves going potty outside any chance he gets. If he doesn't have to go, he'll say "try again later", but when he goes it's definitely a celebrations with "I did it" and the one fist in the air saying "wahoo!"  He gets so excited!  And I'm so so proud of him!!

-One other thing with him lately, he went through a terrible phase of sleeping.  He has always been a golden and great sleeper since day one, but since changing him into a twin bed and raising it from the floor, to the box springs, to the frame, it's been a little challege.  He was constantly wanting to come out and would nap shorter and get up earlier.  We would have to put him back into bed numerous times (and still do) but closing the door or locking it definitely didn't work.  He was terrified of the door being "LOCKED" which we never did, but if it was closed, due to the slant in our house, he couldn't open it.  He went through a few nights of night terrors and would scream out and tremble, but still be asleep.  It was so hard and frustrating for us!  Luckily that only lasted a few different times.  He is now back to sleeping good, but we have to convince him to stay in bed when going down and he'll remind us "don't lock it".  Or if he does come out, he always wants to "Rock a minute!"  He also always says he wants to "git you a love and a kiss!"

Wow, sorry so long of a post, but there is so much going on with this little guy right now and I wanted to remember all the funny, quirky, and memorable things he is doing right now!  I sure love him soo much and couldn't be happier with the little boy that he is!

Pregnancy #2

Wow!! Where to even begin with this pregnancy?!?  Honestly, it is so crazy to me to think that our little boy will be here in 2 days.  I'm slightly starting to freak out! We are so super excited to meet this little guy and add another special boy into our family, but the realization of having another c-section kinda puts a damper on things.  I feel so jipped not to ever get to experience child birth the natural way.  Just in case anyone has questions, Kayson was an emergency c-section.  I went through all the labor and pushing, but never dilated the last 1/4 a centimeter. We decided to push really hard and get him out, but his heart rate plumeted and the Dr. said no more pushing and started ordering the OR crew their STAT.  It made for a very difficult recovery and traumatic first experience of having a child.  I remember one of the first questions I asked my Dr after was if I'd have to have all c-sections, or if I could do a VBAC.  Neither Coby or I can remember the entire reason, only that he said he would never recommend that I tried a VBAC because I had a much higher chance or rupturing and having complications than the average VBAC.  So.... I guess it's c-sections for us!

But wow, has this pregnancy been different since the get-go! We, along with everyone else thought this baby was going to be a little girl, just for the fact that it was so different than my pregnancy with Kayson.  I was so so sick from the beginning.  Yes, your typical nausea and vomiting, but I was in a lot of pain and hurting, had to be checked into the hospital various times for fluid replacement and nausea meds, and overall was sick various times with weird and different things.  Poor Coby and Kayson have had to deal with one sick, pathetic wife and mom! Luckily things started to taper of around the first of December, but various times throughout the rest of the pregnancy I had weird sicknesses/problems come up.  There was one time they thought I might have had kidney stones or appendicitis, turned out to be a bad kidney infection.  Another time, I was so sick with stomach and intestinal problems, thinking a possible blockage, turned out to be a viral intestinal problem.  Jeez, I promise I'm not a hypochondriac or want drama, but this pregnancy sure sounds like a lot of drama.

But enough about me, this little guy appears to be healthy... and BIG!  Maybe not, but according to ultrasounds, the baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead, while I am measuring right on.  So we're all guessing at least 8 pounds, of which I would be thrilled.  No complaints here with a big baby! No real cravings this pregnancy other than dairy products (mostly cheese) during the beginning, which I'm sure definitely helped with being "plugged up" but that was all I could force my self to eat.  And then lately, it's been chocolate milk and cookie dough/brownie batter.... I know super healthy right??  I'm awesome like that.

Here we are at 21+ weeks
I feel like I got a belly so much faster this pregnancy!

As it says, 30 weeks

This was Easter sunday and I was 33 weeks
And fortunatley the last posed pregnancy pic at 35+ weeks!
Yes, most of the pictures appear to be on sundays, because that was the one day of the week I was dressed cute and got ready! (It's not like I stayed home in sweats all day or anything :)

Once again, there are so many emotinons running through my head about bringing another little human being into this world.  Mostly excitement, but I also know 2 little ones will be a transition for our family.  I am so used to Kayson and myself... just my little bud and me, and I know everyone says this, but it's hard to imaging loving another little one just as much.  I know we will love this little boy, there's no doubt about that, it's just that Kayson has been our world for the last 2 and a half years, and all of a sudden that attention is going to have to be divided.  I am beyond thirlled to be having another little boy and can't wait to see our two little boys bond and love eachother (among other things I'm sure).  Babies truly are miracles and we feel so fortunate to be blessed with one more miracle in 2 days!  Can't wait to meet you little guy!

Easter 2013

Easter this year was so much fun! Kayson loved coloring Easter eggs.  Although he mostly just liked picking them up and dunking them in all the colors, he had a blast!

The night we colored eggs, there was also a little carnival going on in town; so we ventured that way! I think we were some of the only white folks there :) But none-the-less, Kayson had so much fun.  I was worried about putting him on some of the rides by himself, but he surprised me every time and enjoyed them all.  He loved flying in the space ships and driving the cars around the tracks.  Luckily he's not shy and just goes with the flow.
Easter morning came and Kays was so thrilled with all the treats.  He got a new church outfit, a couple shirts, jammies, a new book, sand toys, random other toys and yummy treats!

Here we are going to church that day! Love my handsome little guy!
\

We also did the annual town Easter egg hunt!  It always ends so fast.... I think due in large part to the fact that some mothers, yes you heard me, mothers start grabbing eggs and candy.  It's a little ridiculous!  There would be some parents with their arms loaded with treats and eggs and then little kids (mind you this is the 2-3 age division) who would only have maybe 1 egg and a piece of candy or two.  Crazy parents! :)

But regardless of the egg snatching parents, Kayson had a great time with the few he found!

We also did one at home with our colored eggs and Kays had a ball.  We hid them 3 or 4 different times just because he wanted to do it over and over again!

He is such a fun little boy and makes all the holidays so special.  We had fun later that day, rolling our eggs down the hill... or how it actually ended up... Coby and Kayson throwing them in the lake! :)

Start of 2013

Just trying to get updated, I'll just do a little preview of the 2013 so far:
We ended up having a superbowl party at our house this year and it was so much fun! San Fransisco 49ers vs Baltimore Ravens... and sadly the Ravens won.  It was a way fun party though and we were so glad to have my family come out to celebrate!

The middle of March, Coby and I had a little get away down to St. George.  We have only left Kayson one other time and decided before this new baby comes, it would be nice to get away.  We had a lot of fun with shopping, eating, going to the temple, visiting family, gettting my hair done, and relaxing.  It wasn't as restful as we were planning, but all in all we had a great time.  Fortunately we were down there for a very intense time for my sister-in-laws brother and his wife.  Without going into any details, I am glad they are both alive, healthy, and well, and their perfect little baby got here safely too!
We had our annual desert camping trip with my family the first week in April.  Although two of my sisters and their families couldn't make it, we still had a lot of fun.  Kayson absolutely loved 4-wheeling, camping, and catching lizards and horny toads!

He was in heaven every time we caught some.  He, along with Amanda's girls would fight over who could hold them and play with them the most.  The kids had a blast though.

April 23, Coby celebrated his 29th birthday.  We love him so much and are so grateful for all he does for our family!  Kayson was so thrilled to have the balloons and wouldn't stop singing "Happy Birthday" all day long.
And that in a nut shell was the first few months of 2013!
